Top Drawer & Home Exhibitions

We're going to the Top Drawer & Home exhibitions next month at Earls Court - it's got a brilliant laid back feel and is one of our favourites
Apart from looking for anything that's unusual and a bit different, we're on the lookout for coffee related items to compliment our coffee & cappuccino cups - a category that is now one of our most popular

The power of good media

Ziggiziggi's Ribbon Liqueur Glasses gift set was featured in The Press (Yorkshire) - 14 Nov issue.
The result has been a big surge in orders so it goes to show that sometimes the right PR with the right media can have great results

And well done to JT Marketing (our brilliant PR company) for a great job

Are we coming out of recession?

That's the big question but we are seeing some hopeful signs...visitor numbers are moving up, order numbers are growing, customers are ordering more decorative items
OK it's not too scientific but things just seem a bit more positive in the Ziggiziggi office.
A bit of confidence soon spreads so we'll do our bit to help!

A place setting for every table

We try to offer something for everyone in a given product category - it gives our customers the choice they want and gives us a boost to that categories sales
This is true of our 'Placemats and Trays' category now that we've added a whole new range of styles and materials that  includes designs ranging from 'Union Jack' to 'Pop Art' and materials that include melamine, faux lather and even hand cut slate.
We think it looks good whilst the interest from our customers has picked up noticeably

Tweaking our homepage

We've changed the main header image which is the first thing that visitors see on Ziggiziggi's homepage.
It's brighter, adds human interest and has more of an emphasis on gifts
I love it but as they say 'the proof of the pudding etc'.....

Gold Bathroom Accessories

We're catering to customers looking for gold bathroom accessories with the introduction of the Gold Marrakech Bathroom Accessories by Gedy
There'll be more gold bathroom and shower accessories soon - once we have enough of a range we'll set this up as a separate category 

Extra Large Shower Curtains

We do loads of shower curtains, probably the biggest range of decorative shower curtains in the UK.
But it does mean that sometimes it's hard to find what you're looking for and lost amongst the shower curtains are the oversized shower curtains (extra long, extra wide etc).
So we've today created a new category called appropriately 'Extra Large Shower Curtains'
This category contains only the oversized curtains and should therefore make finding the right size much easier.

Ziggis' Cheapest Towel Rack

We've launched our cheapest towel rack yet!
At under £10, the new 'overdoor' towel rail does exactly what it says - it  simply hooks over your bathroom door to provide a practical two tier towel rail.
It's made from chromed steel and even comes fully assembled.

What's hot at Ziggiziggi?

Bright, vivid colours are definitely the 'in thing' at the moment!
Maybe it's the economic climate, maybe it's the weather but customers are really going for colour as a way of transforming their homes
This is particularly so in bathrooms and kitchens with shower curtains and  bath mats doing very well whilst coloured kitchen accessories have also proven very popular with Lime Green the most popular colour of the summer

We did really well when we had hurricane lamps for sale so it's great to get them back on sale

New for August

There's loads of new stuff coming for August!
There are bright colourful  new shower curtains from Ridder of Germany together with luxurious deep pile textile bath mats
I love their new 'Pisa' chequered design which is a brilliant match with the Confetti range of shower curtains
The shower curtains have been chosen for their 'happy' colourful designs as a great addition to cheer up even the dullest bathroom

We've already seen loads of visitors and customers as a result

Bath mats re-organised

We've re-ordered our bath mat category by seperating them into 3 new sub-categories: Non-slip mats (for inside the bath or shower), Wooden mats (duckboards, for saunas etc) and textile mats  (soft mats to go on the bathroom floor)
It looks better and seems more ordered
I am excited about the Textile bath mats as there are some great new designs and colours coming from a variety of suppliers including Blue Canyon, Spirella & Ridder

Wesco - The Worlds Best Bins

We've relaunched the iconic Wesco range of steel kitchen bins and kitchen accessories
Not cheap but pretty much unbreakable, Wesco are made in Germany to the very best standards using only the finest materials and processes
We have selected their classic Kickmaster bins together with matching Bread bins in a range of 10 fantastic kitchen colours

Promoting Shower Curtains & Bath Mats

As an experiment, we have decided to do a major promotion to try and boost ziggiziggi's rankings for shower curtains and bath mats
We will be promoting these phrases through a multitude of channels such as blogging, news, PR, articles etc and through on site tweaks
It will be interesting to see how we do over the next 8 weeks - watch this space!

Shop by Brand

Our Shop by Brand category has had a major facelift with the introduction of bold new category headers and new icon images for the homepage
The design adds much more of a 'shopping' feel to the category...let's hope our visitors like it too!

Our Confetti coloured bathroom accessories have always proved very popular and now we have even more to offer with the introduction of the 'mini' bathroom storage baskets
They are supplied in sets of 2 and come in a choice of six colours including together with white

We're suckers for Koziol

New from Koziol, we have added their funky coloured suction bathroom accessories
The new lines are a suction toilet roll holder, soap dish and tumbler and come in either orange, purple or blue
These are also a match for  their bunny towel holders and luke contact lens cases

Affiliate Future

Affiliate marketing is an interesting way to drive traffic to your site but has to be handled carefully
We will be launching Ziggiziggi on the Affiliate Future network this week but in order to protect our brand will not allow websites that give cashbacks, discounts or advertise the brand name
There's a bit of techy work to do but the creatives are done and look stunning!

Heatandplumb

Heatandplumb, a website that we have always liked and respected have stopped trading
Whilst we all know how tough the retail environment is, it is always sad to hear of any company getting into difficulties - the fact is that there is a lot of human sadness when a company gets into trouble
They may sell competetive products to us but we still wish them well

Pamela has added Lime Green as our latest colour

It's fresh, bright and we love it for a kitchen or bathroom makeover

Our trip to the Spring Fair was eventful and surpringly worthwhile
Not only have we found a number of great new suppliers, we saw some fantastic new sources of shower accessories and shower curtains which should be on sale before the end of February

Pamela has added an area dedicated to this by creating a rather snazzy looking 'Shop By brand' section that allows customers to find products by brand supplier
So now it's even easier to find all that's best in home accessories & gifts

We've changed the look of the homepage for Ziggiziggi creating a seperate zone for specials such as the sale, hot deal and new arrivals categories
The page looks more compact, cleaner and also a little bit strange - probably because we are so used to the old layout

It's only halfway through January yet... we've already launched the funky new bathroom and kitchen accessories from UMBRA, added fun kids bathroom accessories from Opal of London, taken into stock new shower curtains and accessories from Ridder and even added some new cappuccino cups (something I can use for our new coffee machine)
